Stakeholdering uses qualitative techniques to facilitate groups or obtain input from individuals. Success depends on credibility. Being taken seriously by stakeholders means they will give honest, meaningful input. They will go deeper than with someone who they believe wouldn’t understand nuances or the background of the issues being explored and that added depth will make all the difference.

Developing and implementing stakeholder strategies - or even just facilitating stakeholder sessions - employs the same qualitative techniques used in focus groups or in-depth interviews with high-level business audiences.
